Joy McCalister
Joy has spent time in several countries. She and her husband of 26 years, Cliff, have two daughters by birth and one son by adoption. She’s a graduate of Goshen College, and winner of the 2012 Fiction Award from the San Miguel de Allende Writers Conference. “Raising Timber” draws from her family’s experience with Fetal Alcohol Exposure. Joy wrote and edited this novel at the dinette table of her ’59 canned ham trailer while living in Oaxaca, Mexico. Now that they reside in the Colorado mountains, she misses riding her motorcycle on the cobblestone streets.
