There are some things people see in toilets that they wish they hadn’t. What Trevor Hawkins sees might even cost him his life…

When Trevor hits the open road in his beat-up old camper van with his incorrigible dog, Milly, his quest for adventure soon spirals dangerously out of control. The simple act of flushing a hotel toilet transforms his life from redundant sales assistant to fugitive from a gang of psychopathic villains, the police and MI5.

Then there’s private detective Sandra Gray, who could cheerfully throttle him for turning a well paid, piece-of-cake job into a total nightmare. Or could she?

Rob Johnson (Author)

Rob Johnson lives in Greece with his wife, Penny. Like Trevor, the hero of Lifting the Lid, Rob owns an elderly VW Transporter camper van (currently off the road) and has a dog (five rescue dogs actually--and two cats). He also claims to have been accused of 'anally retentive faffing' on occasion, but there the similarity to Trevor ends. [For those unfamiliar with the term, faffing means aimlessly wasting time doing useless tasks.]

He claims to be working on the sequel to Lifting the Lid and two screenplays.
(Editor's Note: The jury is still out on the faffing about. We'll see what happens with the sequel.)

Visit Rob's website (where you can also listen to my series of short, hopefully, humorous podcasts)

Rob sometimes complains about his less-than-efficient research assistants, Hoagy, his feline spell checker, and Sam, his canine fact checker. Perhaps that is what gives his writing such charm.
