Raising Timber

Joy McCalister

Drama Women

When lightning strikes Lainey Clayson, her young son Timber believes she has been granted super powers. She could certainly use some, especially when it comes to raising a child whose life was altered before he was even born.

As if being adopted weren’t enough, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is how the doctors explain Timber’s difficulties, and it seems to fit with the few facts they know about his birth.

Trouble comes at Lainey in waves. Timber’s behavior is too unpredictable for the school. Her husband loses his job, and they gamble everything on opening a new restaurant. When hard work is not an antidote for a troubled life, where can they turn?

Fall in love with Lainey, Timber and their zany friends and relatives in Bailey, Colorado as the unexpected becomes the expected and things are seldom what they seem.
